Road Safety Ambassadors are actively involved in various activities of the foundation like management, recruiting, designing, PR and implementing the campaign.
Mohd Shahnawaz (Founder)
"After the tragic car crash of my sister, I thought I would move on, but often reading about accidents in news, I had deja vu moment where I found problems unresolved. It did bother me to find out people dying due to reckless drivers and unsafe roads. Nothing much credible has been done to change the attitudes of drivers and spread preventive road safety awareness. The last straw came when I read about previous accidents in same spot where my sister died and campaigned to close down the u-turns and then set up the foundation to address the problem at psychological level via compelling ads and embrace safe driving. Safe Driving really Saves Lives."
Mohd Shahnawaz has Bachelors in Geomatics Engineering and is presently Operating Officer of a company. He is an avid public speaker and an entrepreneur & has helped in campaigning to close the u-turns in RAK then recently helped find this foundation hoping to help spread road safety awareness and put a check to reckless driving.

Sappho Rodriguez (Branding Specialist)
I felt compelled to help Suraya Foundation after I heard Mohd's story. I joined the organization on June 2010 and have been already volunteering for other organization for quite sometime and felt my skills would be useful for Suraya Foundation. To date, I helped in first Infographic project and designing the logo of the Foundation.
Sappho Rodriguez is a designer working for Venture Communications/re-brand-ing, an active volunteer for Volunteer In Dubai and has been the lead designer for Suraya Foundation since it's inception.

Valencio Cardoso (Web Strategy Specialist)
I joined Suraya Foundation in late August 2010 after finding common grounds with the organization's cause and my own personal belief that driving in the UAE needed a stark improvement. I found a way to contribute by helping Suraya as a designer, improving the site's usability and their Facebook and Twitter pages.
Valencio Cardoso has worked as an Interactive Designer for TBWA, Dubai and felt his skills could be used for a socially responsible cause. He is also the creator of The Socially Conscious Blog which helps highlight non-profits using the web to promote social responsibility.

Rayden Kusumo (Illustrator)
I joined Suraya Foundation in August 2010 after reading Twitter messages of the foundation and felt compelled to help the foundation with my skill i.e. illustration. I have promoted road safety via comics and videos and am looking forward to promote the message via other measures.
Rayden Kusumo works in Hospitality industry and is an avid graphic designer who has started Rayden Kusumo comic series and has provided more than 80 hours of work to "Are You Reckless?" video.

Advisors bring in their years of experience to the foundation and provide their valuable advice to lead the foundation in the right direction.
Jeff Price
Jeff Price would provide his valuable media experience in guiding the radio campaign strategy for "Are You Reckless?" campaign at the same time helping the foundation connect with other prominent personalities in UAE which would help spread the mission of the foundation.
Jeff Price brings in more than 10 years experience in Media and has been involved with prominent radio and television communities here. He was involved with the first English speaking commercial radio station in the United Arab Emirates, which is currently number one in the national market. Presently he is the Broadcaster for ARN Radio, television Host for City7 TV and Programme Consultant for Jeff Price Media LLC.

Julie Hall
Julie Hall would be ambassador to cyclists, triathletes, runners and pedestrians. She will advise on safe and preventive methods on above mentioned activities and will help the foundation to raise and spread awareness of road safety through sports competitions held in UAE.
Julie Hall is an influential English athelete residing in UAE for past 10 years. She is a triathlete and marathon runner who has represented Great Britain in 3 Triathlon World Championships, 7 Ironman Triathlons and 18+ marathons. She ran the famous Dubai Triathlon Club for 5 years. Julie’s drive for road safety awareness stems from a fatal accident to her close friend and triathlon coach, Mark Pringle in Abu Dhabi in July 2009. She says that being with him that awful day was a pivotal day in her life on so many levels and feels strongly about promoting safety for cyclists on the roads of the UAE and all over the world.

Karin Kloosterman
Karin Kloosterman was one of the first advisor to get involved with Suraya Foundation and have been helping Suraya Foundation with Press Release and making the cause known. She helped in publishing the campaign in the website which led the campaigns of the Foundation known. Being the founder of one of the largest environmental blogs, Green Prophet she brings in extensive PR experience which would help the Foundation.

Dr. Kamal Soi PhD, MBA, MEP(IIMA), MITE, MCIHT
Dr. Soi will help Suraya Foundation in planning the radio campaign and other graphic campaigns providing the foundation his years of valuable experience in road safety.
Dr. Kamal Soi has a Doctorate in Road Safety & Traffic Management & have been involved in various social , governmental & other activities related to Road Safety for the past 15 years. He is also president of Raahat- The Safe Community Foundation- Ngo on Road Safety in India. Recently he started a road safety Oath program and publicized in Radio, TV and print media
